I think he might be thinking of Generations. Which none of us had anything to do with. And the popular conception of there being copyright problems per se isn't really accurate... they shut down to avoid the POSSIBILITY of legal issues. Nobody was served, there weren't any C&D's... their team leader just made some big stupid drama about it to show off how he thought he knew everything about copyright law.

WASN'T there a Doom mod for UT at some point, though? I seem to remember seeing one. Or maybe Wolfenstein?

I was pretty disappointed to see Marathon Arena die. Was remotely interested in seeing if I could do anything with it, but my C++ skills are a little bit too inept.
