SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Marathon aint Doom.

Somewhere there is a timeline of the Bungie creations in respect to the crap published for PC... I think Pathways into Darkness came out before DOOM? If not, even Pathways surpassed DOOM... and Marathon was like Pathways on serious steroids with actual verticlistic aiming (a first in the industry), and a crapload of interactive bits and pieces even DOOM didnt have, and lets not forget the dual-use weapons that even ID didnt integrate in until uh ... well they havnt yet heh.

Comparing Marathon to DOOM is like comparing a Piano to a Xylophone.

If you havnt played Marathon until now... I suggest you not. Its for a cult following and really is dated now if you look back on it (ssh dont let anyone know _I_ said that!). You'd be better off just going and playing those 'uber-realism' mods or whatnot (eesh).
