Well, excuse me, but that's just plain stupid. If you want this MOD to sound like it's ancient, then you're on the right track. Who gives a shit about where the sounds come from? Especially, if they sound better and professional. Did you know that you can buy a sound CD pack for around $1000 that has MOST OF THE MARATHON SOUNDS IN IT? Where the hell did you think Bungie got their sounds? 75% of them weren't original my friend, and if you actually knew what you were talking about here, you would know that you could recognize Marathon sounds in other Hollywood Movies, Japanamation titles, games, and so forth. Check out Macross Plus for some Marathon Infinity sounds. There's at least ten of them in there.
And why does it have to be original or Marathon or nothing? Because you want M:R to be pureblood Marathon? Wake up, idiot. You're running it on Unreal Tournament.

Well when are you going to wrap this up? You said it yourself that it took 2 years to get THIS far. And a remake of a 1994 game needs all the help it can get.
Sure, I'd like to make Marathon 2053 right now, but how many people know their way around Unreal Tournament 2003's source code, or any other great, fresh game. We have an engine that is old by professional game standards, but we're not professional. We're a third-party crew, and third-part crews always deal with older software than the latest title. You want to wait for greener pastures? You might be waiting forever...
