SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Its not an exact copy that I'm asking for. Its the feel of the game. The weapons...as I said, you would have prettier graphics, jumping, etc. with UT. And those neat things you did with video cameras at terminals. But the feel of the game is what makes it Marathon as opposed to some other game. If you don't exactly copy weapon specifics, weapon balances, firing rates, etc...., then you should call it "Some other game Resurrection", not Marathon Resurrection. ;-) Not an exact copy. I agree wholeheartedly with improving things that need improving. But if you're making a Marathon Mod, with the graphics and sounds looking like Marathon, it should feel like Marathon too. If you really really hate Xeroxing other people's work...why did you make a marathon mod in the first place. You could have made a completely unique storyline with completely unique graphics and feel. Instead you took the time and thought to try and copy and improve on an older game. Bring it up to speed. But the feel of a game is in the weapon balances and speeds. Please duplicate them if you duplicate anything. I would rather play with the right game balances and speeds in a level texturing with gray blank slates than play in a beautiful, aesteticly pleasing, artfully rendered level with weapons that were unbalanced and strangely different from Marathon.
