But these are the people who made the engine, without which M:R would be impossible. Epic and iD develop engines. They make games mostly as tech demos. Other people license the engine to make deeper games. The community does the same thing, only the new games they make are free to owners of the original. This of your $25 or so Canadian as going toward an engine that lets you play lots of free games.
