SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: You are going the right place, and if you did actually
: activate the two switches to stop the big Pfhor egg
: column from moving (you can then use the teleporter
: across the way to go to the end), then it means
: something, somewhere, is still alive. As long as you
: kill everything, and the hatchery is indeed disabled,
: you'll get teleported when you're in the room where
: you see the Marathon from. I just tried it myself
: again. Hope that helps.

First off let me say a totally spectacular job on the conversion. I played Marathon multiplayer daily for a good six years, updating with each new game from original through Infinity, and have played the single player more times than I can keep track of...and you have lived up to my expectations of what a Marathon remake should be.

That said, I seem to be stuck in the same place. Can't teleport out the window, have scoured the entire place for things to kill and I noticed something...strange. There are two bugs in the slime of the hatchery chamber with the two switches that respond to weapons fire as if they're alive, but are completely frozen. The other bug corpses splatter when hit by a grenade or rocket for example, but these guys show the explosion animation while hit (a grenade into the slime doesn't). They also will get zapped by a near miss of a charged fusion shot. My theory is that they're still "alive" in terms of completion conditions, but with no way for them to be killed it presents a problem. Additionally, the teleporter in the hatchery area won't work for me, I grenade-hopped up to the room with the three windows to kill the baddies up there.

What is involved in loading weapons and ammo into the next level? I've run out of ideas to get out.
