SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: Not sure why that would be, Dave. I'm sure this level
: works for me. If you can't get past it, though, I'd
: recommend just going into your maps directory and
: starting up the next level. From the looks of your
: pic, it seems like you've already got a handle on
: summoning stuff into the game...

That's what I eventually did to get past that level. Just "open mapname" in the console.

: Also, a note: Your screenshot looks like you're using the
: old M1.utx... Checking my clean UT/M:R install, it
: looks like an older version of this texture package
: was distributed with M:R2. The newest version is
: available on Fileball
: (http://fileball.net/ut/item.fb?579929208), and when
: we do an update sometime we'll be sure to fix this.

Will try downloading it, but almost every time I try to download something from Fileball the maximum number of users has been reached...

: Marathon could look great in UE3, and I'm open to the
: idea... But it would require a hell of a lot of work
: (UE1 is bad enough doing a game the scale of Marathon
: in). I'm pretty skeptical of organizing a project on
: the scale that would be needed to get it done in a
: reasonable time frame. I also think a lot of the
: purism would have to go by the wayside if people
: really wanted to bring the game into the next
: generation.

Yes, it really would look great, but unfortunately, it would take a tremendous amount of time and effort to get such a project going (and to get it completed too). And then UT3 with tools isn't out yet either. But man it would look great :D
