SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: You can convert maps online using
: MMC (for non-Windows users) or you can download and
: run MMC 2.0 Alpha for Windows. MMC 2.0 Alpha handles
: maps differently than the online version, so expect
: differences and expect it to be buggy.

I tinkered with it over the weekend (with the supplied map) and had some difficulties -- not with the app itself, but with UnrealEd. When I would bring in the map, rebuild all, and then click on the Cube tool -- UnrealEd would crash.

Then, after I imported, rebuilt, added a few lights and then Tested the map, UT2004 launched the map successfully, but didn't have any keyboard controls. couldn't quit, could only move with the middle-mouse-button, that sort of thing.

so, i recommend: open UnrealEd, import the map, rebuild, save, quit, open unrealed and then the map. after that, it seems to behave itself.

shrug.
