SPEAK YOUR MIND
"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free
to move?"
"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as
metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course,
the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom,
as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning.
Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Hi John,
Welcome... just a couple of subjective thoughts, but my two kopeks says:
1. I don't like footsteps -- they feel unMarathon-like.
2. Ambient sounds -- agreed, that's already in the works.
3. Pistols. As a former keyboarder, I just think mousing with a pistol is a hopeless task. Practice makes perfect.
4. Having low-health Pfhor attack other Pfhor is the only way to defeat Marathon on Total Carnage unless you're a very, very good player. It's also fun too.
5. It did take a single running punch to kill a green Pfhor, which is accurate. It takes three running punches on TC and seven (!) standing punches to kill a purple fighter. It seems to me that the game is currently "stuck" on "easy" diffuclty.
6. To find other players, click on "multiplayer -> find Internet games -> chat. Set the server to irc.utchat.com (if it isn't already), and click "connect." Next, type the following (no quotes) "/join #marathon" Sometimes there are a few players there, sometimes there are none.
