SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

In Response To: Progress Report (Wail of Suicide)

So, in the attempt to consolidate the models and everything into a nice, single package, things have gone awry.

Currently, I can't even open my test/construction map (The log file says it's looking for "MarathonCard1" but can't find it, so it fails to load the level).

What I was trying to do was to create an abstract class, MarathonDecoExtra, to extend the Decoration class. Within this I would add the specific decorations and have them extend the MarathonDecoExtra class. To make a long story short, that didn't work, everything else I tried didn't work, and now the level itself [effectively] doesn't work.

Troublesome.

Wolfchild or Captain Kewl, any chance for some help here? In the immediate present, all I need is some way to dig into the guts of the level and remove any references to MarathonCard1, so that it's possible to open the darn level.

Beyond that, if someone could either give me some decent instructions on how to set up the class /file hierarchy for deco meshes and convert them into a single .u file, or do it for me, I'd really appreciate it.
