SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: Yup, I've been looking into getting System Shock 1/2
: working on my computer here... Unfortunately it seems
: like they're too old to work on modern computers (or
: need patches, or something that I'm not aware of).
: Eagerly awaiting BioShock though.

SS2 can run on a modern windows, it just needs to have a commandline switch passed to the installer. -lgforcent or something like that. The reason is because SS2 thinks you are trying to install on NT4, which doesnt have directX libraries.... win2k and XP do, but are still NT flavor, and the SS2 installer is confused. You have to MAKE it obey. Otherwise, it works great for me. I was very interested in the SS1 remake project, but they apparently died.
