SPEAK YOUR MIND
"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free
to move?"
"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as
metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course,
the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom,
as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning.
Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

But a big part of the target audience is crotchety old-school gamers, and I bet more of us than the usual 1337 ga/\/\3r do0dz have turned off Flash so as not to be inundated with bouncing blinking ads when we browse the internet. If a site's Flash-only, I generally don't go to it. CSS... Java... Now we're talking. Way of the future. Maybe it's just me, though, in which case go right ahead, and I'll figure out how to make do.
Anyway, I'm not trying to dampen your enthusiasm. I think it's awesome to get more people excited about M:R. I was just being a big whiner, basically. I do know that it's possible to create a richly-designed gorgeous interactive site without using Flash, but it's trickier. Do what you want, don't let grumpy naysayers like me get in the way.
: Well, I was thinking of presenting M:R the same way all
: other game companies are presenting their games
: online.
: ...In richly designed Flash sites.
: Considering the target audience here is the gamer-breed,
: chances are that demographic has the Flash plug-in
: installed. According to Macromedia, 94.1% of all
: online enabled computers have the Flash 6 plug-in. And
: if the user can run Unreal Tournament, their PC
: processor can run Flash.
