120 could be:
1. A unit of measurement -- miles, kilometers, whatever.
2. An absolute degree measurement -- ie, we must rotate the puzzle by 135 degrees Counterclockwise in order to align it properly.
3. A relative degree of measurement, ie,we must reotate the puzzle by 120 degrees, either CW or CCW
4. An indication that we're to use a duodecimal measuring system.
5. A general clue as to how to think of the puzzle.
I think 4 is unlikely.
