I think we need to stop thinking 3-Dimensionally. To me, the little simbol on the right of the puzzle indicates a straight XY cartesian system. I do NOT think that this is a logical sequence of numbers where we need to figure out the next in the series -- Tycho's Real Estate comment reinforces my belief that this is a map of some sorts. Perhaps it's a map that's based in one of the three real estate "hot spots." Those are:
1. San Francisco
2. New York (Manhattan)
3. Boston
I'm going to take a closer look at the Boston subway, and check on some bus routes as well.
