SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: Did anyone else monkey around like this???

My brother made a map he called Sudden Death. It was a big in-door arena with the light pulsing on and off and had modifed physics. The SPNKR was modifed to have almost infinite ammo and shoot about 2 shots per second. Since the engine could not really handle having all those misile and smoke plume sprites flying around (8 sprites per shot) he changed the SPNKR missile sprite to the green Hunter shot sprite.

So now everyone's running around with this missile hose. During the dark cycle of pulsing light it looked like a scene out of a WWII bomber movie: As people turned while firing those green bolts there would be all these expanding arcs of light that looked exactly like anti-aircraft tracer rounds. The trick was to see them coming and try to run in between them. It was fun to play in and of itself, but the added visual AA effect was stunning.
