: Everyone's Mortal But Me: Are you not supposed to be able
: to step off the elevators?
Nah, the transparent elevators take you to the top floor. Be sure to turn around and open the door on your way up when the elevator stops. The top floor is basically a circular hallway with 4 (...or 2, can't remember) ledges overlooking the main arena.
Personally I'd like to see this map redone so it looks more like the original. Perhaps make the current one a sequel or something.
: The Fusion Pistol is AWESOME
Sure is! =)
: No crosshair? Did M have this? I'll check the settings.
: Maybe it's turned off.
The original Marathon series never had 'em. I do believe there is a server option to turn 'em on, so don't worry if you liked 'em. Personally I'd like to see all of the weapons centered like the original Marathon. They are hard to aim when they're off to the side. The SPNKR is the only exception, of course.
: I can be seen w/invisibility.
You're partially transparent, but not completely. It gives you an advantage, but not so much that you'll always win with it. It helps balance gameplay when playing against other human opponents.
: Two handguns - need to use second trigger to fire both.
: UT vets might not like this. Marathon vets will.
My second trigger key is "control". Unfortunately when I hold down my mouse button and the control key simultaneously, it switches weapons. It's kinda annoying since I have to time it perfectly. I guess I'd be better off with a two-button mouse. It's almost mandatory nowadays to own one for a first person shooter. =)
: Running over weapons doesn't pick up ammo.
The original Marathon also didn't allow this, so this was intentional. The only problem I see with this is the inability to pick up a second alien weapon, because it isn't automatically discarded in Resurrection.
: I love the recoil on the weapons.
Some of them feel a little too strong, especially the MA-75. It slows you down a bit when firing and running at the same time. I don't remember being slowed down that much in the original Marathon. Maybe my memory just needs refreshing.
: Wrath No More - annoying hum in the center of the map.
True. Unfortunately I get major FPS droppage near the recharger area. I have no idea why. It's not exactly the most complex UT level. I'd suggest that the mapmaker should tone down on the texture layer usage a bit and simplify it a tad. There are unnecessary texture details that slow down performance, and the level geometry isn't all that complex to begin with. My suggestion to the mapmaker is to simplify texture usage just a tad, much like the original netmap.
