SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Bot Support (or lack thereof)

Posted By: Anaphiel
Date: 2001.7.25.13.49

I just wanted to let you all know that yes, bot support is broken in the beta release, but yes, we are aware of it and yes, we can and will have it fixed soon™.

Some last-second work on the final build broke the bot support, but we decided it was better to do the release (hey, you can frag your friends and tour the Marathon bots or no bots, right?) than to delay it any further. Many of you have noted that the 25th of July is the date of the Pfhor attack on the Marathon. Releasing even a day late would have felt wrong.

The fix will be a replacement .u file to drop in your M:R system folder (about a 17MB download). It will not be necessary to download the full scenario again.

Hopefully you can still play and enjoy the beta until we can fix some of the outstanding issues. Thanks for the feedback and the encouragement. Keep it coming!
