SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Ah well, I agree that this project needs completing first - nothing is worse than leaving something unfinished.

Also a shame you cant port more than just textures over to a newer engine.

Another thought that occurs to me is, rather than using something like UT and such, what about building something up from an OpenSource engine, like CrystalSpace. That way you could write something that can parse a lot of the original marthon data [physics files, maps, sounds] and then use custom models and enhanced textures. Not being tied to enother engines format for files would make thing much easier, I would think. Of course I have no idea how harder that would be [well, I can guess it would be hard...] - and I am sure people have thoght of this before, just saying what I think :)
