SPEAK YOUR MIND
"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free
to move?"
"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as
metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course,
the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom,
as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning.
Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Marathon: Resurrection Forum
Hello everyone, and a quick question
Posted By: Dave Parson Date: 2003.12.30.13.08
Just wanted to say hello to everyone here, I'm excited to come across Marathon and this conversion being done. Marathon was my favorite game during my Mac days on a Performa 575, a system just fast enough to run the game in the high resolution mode using the smallest window. Wish I still had that computer, I'd love to see Marathon again.
I don't have Unreal Tournament so I downloaded most of the game using Kazaa last night. I also downloaded the Marathon Resurrection umod file and finally got that installed. Unfortunately my downloaded version of UT won't start completely, and after checking its log I've noticed it fails right after loading the Entry map, saying that a name of some sort is invalid.
So I wondered if there is a command line option or INI modification that I could use to start the MR mod directly, hopefully bypassing the problem. If not I'll just go out and buy UT, but I'd like to avoid that since the full mod isn't available just yet. I did find a used copy of UT for $15 though, and that's a small price to pay if the first 3 incomplete levels look fairly nice.
Thanks again for doing this guys, I really look forward to the MR!
