SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: I didn't have a clue, I just placed it on the end of the
: statement in order to remain concordant with the
: pfhorm style of putting *NT* when you couldn't think
: of anything to write.

*NT* is added by the BBS software when you don't put anything in the Message field. It denotes NO TEXT.

: A bit like Event or Function in UScript - finally found
: out what the difference was. Now, if only I could find
: out the difference between Simulated Function and
: Function.

Network replication is one area that I'm still definitely fuzzy on, but...

A simulated function gets executed client-side in net games, while a regular function gets executed server-side. This is one reason that the terminal in Mars Needs Women doesn't work in network games - I didn't take the trouble to use simulated functions in the terminal code.
