Actually, Custom Launchers can be pretty darn helpful. I have an AppleScript launcher for use with UTX so I don't have to muck with moving scripts around when I switch between OSes. I have individual UnrealTournamentX.ini and UserX.ini files for use with UTX. I use my own scripts for all the mods, even if the mod makers have their own (sometimes their launchers get confused...).

They're easy to make:

set something to "Entry.unr INI=:UnrealTournamentX.ini USERINI=:UserX.ini log=:UnrealTournamentX.log"

end tell
