SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: the point of my post was to suggest that the positions of
: the dots themselves /do not matter/. this has been
: discussed in previous posts. rather it is the dashes
: themselves that hold the real data. We are not going
: to get anywhere if we just overlay the original
: picture on an atlas. I don't think that these AI's
: would be that nice. ;)

But if the positions of the dots don't matter, why go through the potentially confusing business with the yellow dashed line? Why not just put that particular dot further down in it's 'groove'? The fact that that yellow dashed line is there seems, to me, to indicate that the positions are relevant.

But I think you're right about overlaying the dots on an atlas. That would've been too easy. (Didn't stop me from wasting time doing it, though...;-)
