SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Okay, so if you overlay the grid on a world map, with the origin at the north pole, and the x-axis along the 120 degree line (the western one, that is), and each concentric circle representing the latitude lines from 80n to 20s, the points plot out like this:

Somewhere near the North Magnetic Pole
Faroe Island in the North Sea
Somewhere east of Edmonton (Canada)
~1000 miles of the coast of Halifax
Somewhere near Memphis, TN
Way out in the Atlantic Ocean
Further out in the Atlantic Ocean
Still in the Atlantic Ocean, but approaching the north coast of Brazil
~300 miles of the coast of Peru
Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean
Just off the coast of Brazil, near Sao Paulo
Somewhere else in the Pacific Ocean

The one in the US is also the fifth dot out from the center, if that means anything, but "Memphis" didn't work.
