SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Marathon: Resurrection Forum

Couple of thoughts

After having played this build a bit, I just wanted to comment on a couple of things.

First off, the no-footsteps sound (but a landing sound when jumping) is PERFECT. IMHO, it's the perfect compromise between Marathon and UT. And I also like the fact that there isn't a "grunt" jumping sound either. Cyborgs don't grunt.

Next, CTF. Even though CTF is pretty boring with 2 or 3 players, it can be really fun with 4 or more. Provided it is't too difficult to implement, could this be placed under consideration? M2/MI was going to have several gametypes which were never implemented, one of those being CTF. Also -- how cool would flags with the little Tycho and Marathon logoes look?

While the argument can be made that most Marathon maps would not lend themselves to CTF gameplay, this may not be true for ALL Marathon maps. Furthermore, as M:R gains more momentum, I think we can expect more Marathon-like maps, a la The Great Nothing, some of which might be specifically set for CTF.

Finally, I posted earlier about this. Is there any consideration being given to making the secondary trigger of the SMG a "scope" mode, a la sniper rifle?

Keep up the good work,

-grasshoppy
