SPEAK YOUR MIND
"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free
to move?"
"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as
metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course,
the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom,
as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning.
Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

In Response To: Compilation of post launch work? (DamnGlitch)
: Heya! Big fan of the project, and I'm very appreciative
: of all th work you guys have done.
: Browsing through the boards, it seems there's a lot of
: stray 'updated' files floating around. Tweaks and what
: not. Considering that M:R is a fan project, and by
: that merit probably wont see much more work done on
: it, what are the chances we might see even an
: incomplete update package, just to address critical
: flaws, or at least integrate some of that post launch
: work done in the last four years?
: Anyway, Thanks again for all oyur hard work over the
: years. Seeing the full game come out after playing the
: demo forever was really a treat.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoying M:R! It's good to know after all this hard work people out there still have fun with this. Every once in a while since 2007 when the final went out, this question pops up, and I respond to it each time saying that we would very much like to release another version with everything neatly patched up in a package. Again, I'll say the same thing..yes..we would like to do this and some effort's been done in this direction, but not enough. Mostly, the map bugs we know about should be all fixed, and a few polishes here and there. In short, we want to make another release, but I don't know exactly when that will be.
As an addendum, I think after the final release, we all suffered from a bit of Marathon overdose, and as our daily lives took over, very little time remained available for us to work on things we just do for the love of it. M:R was a good lesson in what it takes to work on a project only paid for with gratitude and one day I'll write a lengthy essay on the process. Cheers and see you around An update will teleport eventually.
