SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: So when are we gonna see Duality as a DMMR flavour?

well, you can use the map as-is in MR now. I've been toying with the idea to redo the pool area of the map for the past couple of years now (!!) and just haven't gotten around to it yet.

If you want a pure recreation of the geometry from the Marathon series, I wouldn't hold your breath -- unless Wolfie does the conversion. Actually, it shouldn't take him more than an hour to do it. ;)

Duality was the very first map that I ever created in the Unreal Engine waaaaay back when the original Unreal came out, and it got ported forward when UT came out. There are some "issues" with the map (okay, a lot of issues with the map), but it's not unplayable.

I'm considering redoing the map from scratch for UT2003 but that won't happen until I can get a real PC -- I'm still running on a 400MHz P2 with 192MB RAM. It's nearly unusable now. *sigh*

...Hmm. Maybe I will work on Duality again. It's been ages since I've done any mapping.
