Sure the M:R is a remake of the M1 but then again there where no shotguns in M1. And the assault rifle looks more like the M2 then the M1. So I guess they would have made the alien weapon model to resemble the M2 if they wanted it to. But the alien weapon in M2 and Minf was no where as cool as the one in M1 IMO.
