SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

A Note on Race and Species
"Many people in the galaxy use the word 'race' when referring to various aliens. While this usage common, it is also incorrect. The proper term for each alien as 'species,' as 'race' is a term used to denote different sub-groups of a particular species, distinguished by different physical characteristics. This distinction is an important one because, like humans, many alien species have a number of races." (from page 212 of: Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, Second Edition, Revised and Expanded)

Even though this is fom a Star Wars book, I think it still applies to other science fiction. I noticed that in the Reprisal storyline the Humans are refered to as a species and a race.
