A standalone game? Are you kidding me? You want these poor people, who are doing this for free by the way, to spend even more of their free time writing their own engine just to do marathon again? There is zero, nay NEGATIVE point in doing that. Go play Halo if you want a sweet new engine and a marathon-like game. Its the closest single-player experience i've found in a game since marathon.
