120 what?

I don't know if anyone has thought of this before, but I had an idea about the 120 thing. Maybe it means that each of the radii only goes out 60 degrees from the pole instead of 90. That would make each of the concentric circles 5 degrees apart from the next. That also would mean that there would be nothing in the area of the equator. Just a thought.
