The new guy uses Seiko's caliber 8L35, with a 50 hour power reserve; it's a 26 jewel, 28,800 vph motor and should give significantly better performance and longevity than the original's caliber 6105A, which has 17 jewels and runs at 21,600 vph. SLA033 is also a bit larger than the original, at 45mm in diameter, but it feels like an appropriate size for the design; the 6105 after all, in the version being reproduced by SLA033, was a 44mm watch.With that, Mintiens' imagination was off and running. He conceived a new Time by Color system using 48 ceramic balls in four contrasting colors – yellow, light gray, blue, and black – each representing 30 minutes. With only 24 balls visible on the dial at a time, the balls freely flow through a bi-level channel like a string of pearls as the hours pass from morning to afternoon to night, emitting different color combinations depending on the hour.Believe it or not, the North American watch media landscape consists of a relatively small group of individuals; it's hard not to get excited when one of our external colleagues takes a risk and does something cool.Speaking personally, no watch has managed to leave me more on the fence than the blue Pelagos. I love the looks, the lume, the hardcore specs, the titanium, the clasp – billig zenith uhren all of it. But, every time I try one on it feels just a bit too big for my wrist. If I ponied up for a watch like a Pelagos, I'd want to wear it every day, all the time. And while the 42mm width and 14.3mm thickness isn't at all too much for such a capable dive watch, the 50mm lug to lug is long for my seven-inch wrist.The micro-mechanic portion of my education was one of the most challenging and enjoyable parts of my watchmaking education. We used no computers beyond a very basic CAD system for laying out the final design of our movement bridges. All of the work was done with manual lathes, files, gravers, and the enjoyable-to-describe "wobble stick" centering method. Once the watch was completed, it was evaluated. I was graded on the workmanship and the timekeeping of the final product.

In particular, the grey colorway is one we rarely come across. It's big, it's loud (literally), and it's oddly falsi vacheron constantin orologi satisfying on the wrist.
