Although new old stock is always ideal, the next best thing in my books is a watch that's been worn but remains untouched by meddling hands. Today’s example in question fits the latter description, with a case and crystal not free of scuffs, but certainly free of unfortunately polished-away lines. What appears to be slight corrosion on the surface of the hands would further confirm that this piece is truly untouched, giving prospective bidders additional peace of mind.Lange watches in fake zenith watches my experience have a certain uniformity of quality which I have not found in timepieces from other luxury watch companies. For me this watch is another feather in the cap of a brand somewhat forced to compete with the likes of AP which masters the use of skeleltonization, and materials – titanium included.The Snowflake uses Grade 5 titanium, and Grand Seiko manages to show off a bit of its finishing ability, with a mixture of polished and brushed surfaces on the case and bracelet. It uses what Seiko calls its "High Intensity" titanium, which has increased scratch resistance. The variety of finishing is something its two competitors lack, and this finishing comes with purpose: It's thanks to this mix of polished and brushed that the SBGA211 feels so versatile.

Crafting watches with familiar methods wasn't the mindset that put Swatch on the map, and it's not how the brand has operated over the last 38 years. Recently, Swatch has looked to make watches from bio-derived materials.None of this would matter much, however, if the watch wasn't such a pleasure to wear. Frankly, I was expecting, if not a certain degree of unavoidable ursine heft, then at least a constant background sense that I was wearing a No Nonsense Technical Diving Instrument.It's a cherry on the top that this watch comes with a special presentation box and the original guarantee paper. As I mentioned at the top, I wish Rolex still made a whimsical presentation box like this one which has a leather belt-buckle like design with the coronet on the buckle.
