H. Moser's New Cylindrical Tourbillon Is A Seriously Stunning Skeleton
The Breitling Navitimer 1 B01 uses a caseback with sapphire crystal so you can enjoy looking at the movement. On the bezel you will find some engravings, like the fact that this is actually a certified chronometer movement and that the watch is water resistant to 3 bars (~30 meters). The dials, with their famous sandwich structure, come in two variations: white with gold indexes, Arabic numerals and hands highlighted with sand-colored Super-LumiNova®, or blue with the white-tinted fausses rolex sea dweller luminescent material. In the center, two luminescent gold hands display the hours and minutes, completed by a small seconds counter at 9 o'clock. The Premier Datora looks completely different from the Super Chronomat that I recently reviewed.Last year, Biver unveiled its inaugural release, the Carillon Tourbillon, with much fanfare. Many of its designs speak to me, especially the Tank Normale and the Tank Francaise.
Unlike previous automatic time-only models, the 37.02 Minimalist displays the movement through a domed sapphire crystal. The self-winding Sellita SW300.M1 has 45 hours of power reserve and repliki Richard Mille rm 005 a frequency of 28,800vph. It also has an anthracite coating and features a skeletonized rotor. While the movement isn't exotic, it looks modern and nicely finished in this darker tone.Hours, minutes and seconds are thus punctuated by the famous MB M62.00 caliber, which beats at the soft frequency of 2.5hz and delivers 50 hours. This motor is housed in a 39mm diameter and 9.45mm thick steel case and is visible through the sapphire crystal back.Several of these watches suffered from moisture that entered the watch, and the applied logo and polished broad arrow hands often show signs of corrosion. That said, aside from the color scheme, the main difference is in the bezel. The rose-gold case gives the new Pulsograph a more formal air than it has in steel, of course, but I think it suits the character of the movement very well. And while I know that popular opinion these days tends to be on the side of putting traditional chronographs in steel cases, I can't help but feel that while you do get some cool factor from the combination, it's still more in tune with the hauteur of an haute horlogerie movement to case it in gold.
This way, the watch brand has more control with respect to the quality of the sales staff, has direct contact with its customers and - perhaps - decreases the number of watches disappearing into the falošné audemars piguet hodinky grey market. To exalt their delicate femininity even more, each tonneau-shaped case embraces a dial set with black sapphires with an onyx in the center. On the Manero's side, however, is the fact that while the movement is not strictly speaking in-house (caliber CFB 1970 is derived from the ETA 7750) it has been significantly modified, including the addition of a column-wheel control system rather than the stock lever-and-cam mechanism, as well as the addition of a flyback function. Longines does column wheel chronographs for as little as $3,000 however again, the flyback function is absent. In 2016, Hublot revealed one of their most unique calibers in the MECA-10, a skeletonized manually-wound movement with a distinct architecture, a whopping ten-day power reserve, and a unique power reserve indicator on the dial. In the 2016 Hublot-era-fashion, the MECA-10 sat in their whopping 45mm case size, leaving this engineering only for the large wristed customer base among us.
