This one has a beautiful creme dial and luminous baton hands, features in which Patek obviously still places a lot of faith, given their somewhat unexpected comeback at the upper end of Patek's current line-up. The bezel, by the way, is ceramic and a fairly elaborate piece of work, with luminous material used for the markers and for the lettering as well. Overall the watch feels very robust and very well made; certain to a degree appropriate for its price, and general quality feels very consistent with addition of the somewhat rare retrograde jump-hour complication.Finally, the new SPB301 is perhaps the most unexpected iteration of Seiko's classical Willard case design to date, trading the typical serious, dark matte dial for a blindingly white dial tone that's surrounded by an attractive blue bezel insert. All three watches feature the self-winding caliber 6R35 movement inside, an upgrade compared to previous STO generations powered by the lower-grade 4R-family of movements.
