For the curious, Romain Gauthier was once again involved in this project. The independent watchmaker, who Chanel chose to support several years ago in exchange for his expertise, was involved in developing Calibre 1, and once again has provided the new movement's wheels. However, the movement was designed by Chanel's studio in Paris and is brought together by a small team at the Swiss manufacturer Chatelain.And while I started HODINKEE out of a pure love of watches and the act of storytelling, we've grown up quite a bit. Never did I think this little site would become a business, but when life gives you an opportunity to do something special, it's a mistake to not pursue it. Today, we take it one step further.Operationally, everything is controlled via the crown that's set with a sapphire cabochon and placed inside a bow at 12 o'clock, in accordance with Bovet's typical traditional pocket watch-adjacent aesthetic. The crown can be used to set both the time display and the interior world time disc. That said, I do think the svelte Tag Heuer Autavia COSC GMT offers a lot for the type of buyer repliky hublot Hodinky who might not have any interest in the darling Seiko.We recently covered our favorite watch merch, and these little spoons have always been one of my favorites. And since I drew Tiffany, Hodinkee's intrepid photographer, I figured that, at the very least, they'd make nice props for a shoot or two. At the time the prize was announced, I had never heard of CIGA Design – and neither had any of the old-school Swiss watch industry executives who surrounded me. I needed to know more.Also, while the uni-directional bezel is appropriately classic in falske panerai klokker aesthetics, it's a bit spongy in its clickiness, and in classic Seiko-style, I can't quite tell if the bezel is slightly out of alignment or if the curved sapphire crystal was playing tricks on me. In all fairness, it's likely the latter and all of the above are worth overlooking for all the positives of the watch.As far as sizing goes, all the models feature the updated 40.5mm diameter and 12.88mm, which is decently more approachable than the previous models that tend to float in the 42mm and above range. Additionally, the 2023 Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph sports a lug-to-lug of 49mm and a lug width of 20mm.Doing some simple math, assuming that 25 Vichet cases were made out of a total number of 114 ref. 2497 made total, that leaves 89 Wenger-cased examples ever made. That's just under 80% of the total production of the reference.

I get really involved with all my collaborations, but I wasn't sure how this one would go because Bulgari is the highest-end collaboration I've done. So they set a different kind of bar for me.
