The Torque Return System is omitted in the 9R31, which has a lower power reserve than 9R02 – a still-respectable 72 hours. Cases are gold or steel, and slightly thicker than the platinum models, at 10.2mm.Now, this is effectively the same Ressence Type 3 design that everyone knows, but with a new unique color, and an equally unique red strap. The dial is almost entirely red, but also features orange and grey accents on the subdials. The hands and outer track markings are a stark white.In a way, this watch is a compromise. Sure it's not the 40mm size that we covet, but it brings a certain retro aesthetic that feels right in this largeAt 43mm, this one is big – but that's sort of the point. Especially since the dial isn't making the watch feel any smaller. As a result of the size and color, the Orange Diver is very legible, and the white markers can be read in a snap against the dial. I'm sure naysayers will come for the magnified date window, and while I don't like how it looks, I can't complain about how it works.
