The map is something that's come up several times. The long and short of it is, it's not technically feasible within Unreal Engine to have a dynamically drawn map like in Marathon.

I am considering the idea of placing static maps in certain areas, but the trick is that a static map [more often than not] will display areas that the player hasn't yet discovered. This would have to be done carefully so that the entire layout of a level isn't necessarily given away.
