No Detail Textures..?

I have now tried M:R in Windows - I have installed UT GotY & then applied the M:R umod file - but there are no detail textures ingame - I have set the D3D Rendering options to DetailTextures=True but it is obvious that on my Mac with OpenGL rendering enabled, the textures are much more detailed than they are on my PC - how can this be...
