SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: Ok, we're all good bar two things: health thangies and
: the lift room in level 25. This is where the player
: must jump around a corner from one lift to the other.
: This is fine in Marathon, but the physics are just a
: little different in UT. I can make this possible by
: decreasing the gravity, however this allows the player
: to jump halfway up the problem and reduces the
: challenge. If I leave it on the threshold it's too
: tough to do.

Is it possible to actually alter the geometry so the lift that moves up goes a bit higher than in Marathon? I'm actually more concerned with making it too difficult than to easy, so if you have no other option, I'd rather it be more easy, than impossible.

: Furthermore: Why does the Marathon have MAGMA on it? it
: seems a little odd to me.

I seem to remember a number of threads over at the story forum about this. Some hypothesies is that maybe it isn't magma, but some sort of waste, but then again, none of those make a whole lot of sense...poetic license I suppose.

: Finally: cannot remove visual bugs from the main lift in
: the lava room. Sometimes you can see through the side
: of it. Go figure.

Is it possible to make a second very thin lift beside it, and make the main lift a bit thinner and have them both move at the same time? I've never been in UED so I have no idea if I'm talking out of my butt, but hopefully Woofy will chime in here.

Hope that helps, sorry it's taken so long to reply, trying to catch up with everything :)
