MMC 2 has a full 3D OpenGL view. It also has a few changes in the way map data is processed and exported. Currently it will only export one map at a time, the export all doesn't work yet.
The current MMC 2 dev version has very little error checking. If you give it something it doesn't expect it will usually crash. Additionally I have only tested it with the Marathon 1 Shapes and Map files; no third party maps whatsoever.
I should probably mention that MMC 2 is Windows only. I have plans for a Mac and Linux version, but since I don't have much time to work on even the Windows version, don't hold your breath.
