The reason I mention Thrud in low-grav is because back in the day, I did a quick and dirty job of FORGEing in about 120 SPNKR, AR, and Shotgun Marines, which appeared in groups of 10 or so, then I "low-graved" the physics with Anvil. About 9 times out of ten, I got my ass kicked. After a while, the Marines would stop respawning, and I'd know I had won.

Having few opportunities to play LAN, I'd play Thrud for hours on end using those settings. I think Thrud is particularly suited for low grav in three respects.

1. Because low grav slows your fall, you've plenty of time to turn around, mid-fall, and perform some spectacular ledge-kills.

2. Because your fall is slow, there are plenty of opportunities for YOU to be spectacularly killed in midair

3. As you know, low grav also enables you to propel yourself (using the AR and/or SPNKR) to and from many of the map's strategic points -- the mid tower (with the SMG), and the various ledges. I think a SPKR shot would be barely enough to get from one ledge to the corresponding ledge on the other side of the map -- looks cool, feels great.

Of all the maps that I tried to build as fun "network sans lan" maps for my own use, Thrud was the most fun (with Dome-con-SPNKR marins being a close second).

FWIW, I think UT low grav sucks; in spite of being more realistic than Marathon's, it's just not as FUN.
