Lets just look at what we know...
Some fellows once sang:
"I read the news today, oh boy" (this would be the beatles)
So then, this is what you can count on knowing:
1. The puzzle is about here on Earth. (no real marathon stroy connection, unless it describes events which had occured on earth)
2. Location, Location, Location.(it is a place. since the beatles were obviously from england, my scrutiny is focused around there, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know of a england/beatles marathon connection?)
3. The diamter is 120; the four radius lines then, are all 60. (since england doesn't have 60 anything radii, it cannot be the country, maybe a more specific location which is connected to the beatles...buildings,squares,etc.)
4. "I read the news today, oh boy" (anything special happen in england today? The original line had 'news' in green which I can only take as some sort of -cough-BLATANT CLUE-cough-)
