Also -- if you're running an older version of UT, you may need to manually enter the current epic server. After selecting Find Internet Games --> Chat, you should have the server be irc.utchat.com, and the channel set to #marathon

In some cases, it is necesary to join #utgames first, then type /join #marathon you should have no problems after that.

You may also use any irc general chat client, such as mirc (PC) or ircle (mac), just select server as irc.utchat.com and type /join #marathon when you connect.
