From a mathematical point of view...

Its definitely a coordinates systems with x-y-z axis. The question is from what plane are we looking at it. I also believe that the circles, however useful in providing a
scale, are meant as an optical illusion to confuse our eyes.

Once the correct orientation is determined(lord knows how to find that) the coordinates of each point are part of the
solution. Whether the coordinates are in rectangular(xyz), polar(r,theta,z) or spherical(r,phi,theta) remains to be found.

Who have thought math would be useful?!
