fusion sounds? or am i a moron?

i noticed that even though marathon resurrection is recreating marathon 1 they used the marathon 2 fusion pistol and the sound effects that went with it, thast cool cause i think the M2 fusiol pistol looked far better.....but i also thought the M1 fusion pistol sounded far cooler, along with the mpact sound for the fusion bolts. was there a particular reason for not using the marathon 1 sounds (like lower quality) or what? or am i the only one that liked them alot better than the ones from M2.
just a dumb rant from me
