SPEAK YOUR MIND
"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free
to move?"
"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as
metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course,
the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom,
as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning.
Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

In Response To: So I played the first level of Halo... (spoilers) (Captain Kewl)
: On the demo machine in the local EB.
: The first level feels distinctly like Aliens, what with
: the dropships and the marines... and the Master
: Sergeant being revived from cold sleep. (10 points to
: anyone who can pick out the Aliens reference in M:R.)
: The firefight is very well executed; the marines
: chatter like bobs but are actually potent. The enemies
: are too, though... They look like something out of
: Half-Life and are actually SMART -- they know how to
: duck for cover and flank their enemies; they don't
: just stand there and wait to get shot. Very
: interesting.
: And I was pleasantly surprised to see that the
: crewmembers were ... oddly familiar looking. And color
: coordinated.
Actually, Alien: Resurrection never really occurred to me when I thought up the name. One guy I was talking to said "Marathon: Rebirth," and I thought, "Marathon: Resurrection." So, it stuck.
