Someone should set up a M:R IRC channel. Back in ye old days I used to play Rainbow Six all the time, but I refused to go through the web-based server listings. On EFnet I had a friend who was an op in the small channel #RB6 and a bunch of us (like, a dozen to eighteen tops) would be in there and someone would, lo and behold, set up a server, and we'd all join. We all knew each other one way or the other and we had a blast. This went on for six months.
One night I'd run a server for a few hours, then my friend, then any number of people. It was a blast, and there was a much tighter feeling of community than on WON net or whatever the hell it used.
Just a thought.
