Each watch comes fitted to a leather racing-style strap.This modern TAG Heuer has a noticeable presence on the wrist thanks to its 44mm width with a thickness and lug to lug measurements to match. The forward-facing details on this watch are evocative of the brand’s purposeful DNA with bold, legible hands, a neatly framed date window, and a horizontally lined dial adding depth. The CAK2112 is a tough cookie both in looks and performance thanks to its ceramic bezel, 500m water resistance, and tons of lume.Dial text is sparse on this one and – as is tradition for TAG Heuer – the TAG branding is removed in order to keep things true to the original model, even if the size doesn't conform. Another non-conforming feature is the exhibition caseback showing off the Calibre HEUER 02 Automatic featuring 80 hours of power reserve complete with a black rotor. I think the brand did a bang-up job with most of the aesthetic elements that harken back to the old days. This is something TAG has really nailed over the years in its production of legacy reinterpretations.Rich Fordon is a vintage expert and a man of taste. However, there are many more layers of aesthetic nuance to our beloved Chicago-born editor. If you look closely at the crescent-moon-shaped date hand in the 9 o'clock subdial, you'll see that it carries a tiny magnifying glass, to enlarge the printed date scale.There are two versions of the watch, in white gold and rose gold, and each uses mostly the same type of clear stonesThe case has also been redesigned by Bulgari for the collaboration. While the original Flying T watches had a more or less conventional case shape – round, with extended lugs – the Flying T Allegra has shorter lugs which are almost hidden under the edge of the case.
