There’s no bad blood between the two teams, but we did try to collaborate at one point and it didn’t work out. Chalk it up as philosophical differences. Honestly, I’m a bit surprised that Res’s mod is as conservative as it is. When I was hanging out on the private forums many months ago, there were some crazy/cool ideas that were being bandied about between the team members. I was kinda hoping that some of those ideas would have made it into Resurrection. In the mean time, both Rhyn and I decided that since Resurrection was being really creative, we needed to differentiate ourselves by being more conservative. We also decided to do this because the mod is (#1) intimately tied to a copyright now owned by Microsoft and (#2) because I couldn’t model the curvy Marathon weapons worth a crap when I first started using Max. But now I can. =)
I can’t speak for team Unphorgiven, but our three person team is interested in esablishing a kind of brand presence. The next mod we release will undoubtly have the Rampancy name attached to it. But it won’t be a copy of anything.
