SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: In Marathon, the player would continue moving forward at
: the same speed when falling, but the direction of
: movement would in fact change if the player turned the
: view. This made it possible to actually steer around
: corners and the like in mid-air. The only thing the
: player couldn't control during free fall was their
: forward/backward speed.

Also, if you got blasted into the air, you couldn't influence the direction of the movement that was caused by the blast. You could still influence the direction of your normal running movement. This leads to some very weird consequences when maneuvering in mid-air, and it's something you have to master if you ever play Carnage Soccer.
